Lebanon Blue Wave

Hanover, NH

Directions: If you are traveling on I-89 FROM the North, take exit 18. At the end of the exit ramp, you will take a Left at the traffic light, which brings you onto Rte 120 North. (you will recognize this area, because you will pass the Lebanon Elks lodge).

Travel on Rte 120 North for approximately 4 miles. When you see the Co-Op Mobil gas station on your right, and a Y intersection, take a Left (There is a sign at the intersection that shows Business District to your left). Immediately after, on your Right, you will see a blue sign for the Richard W. Black Community and Senior Center. This is the new location for the Lebanon Blue Wave dojang. There is a small parking lot there. Additional parking is on the street (metered parking - after 5pm no money is required). And there is the Hanover High School parking lot - a small distance up the street.

Coming from I-89 South, you will take exit 18 and take a Right onto Rte 120 N. From there, follow the directions above.

Coming from I-91 South, take exit 13 (Hanover/Norwich exit). You will take a Right at the end of the exit ramp, which leads you into Hanover. Go over the Hanover/Norwich bridge. Continue on up the hill until you get to the 1st light. At the first light (Main Street), take a Right. At the next light, take a Left. Continue on this road for less than a mile. You will pass the Hanover High School, and on your Left you will see a blue sign for the Richard W. Black Community and Senior Center. Small parking lot there, parking on the street, or at the Hanover High School.

Coming from I-91 North, take exit 13 and take a Left at the bottom of the exit ramp. Follow the same directions as above from I-91 South.

Classes are for beginners and experienced practitioners. We have several black belts that teach the classes, with at least 2 being present at each class. Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday with kid's class from 6-7PM and the adult/junior's class from 7-8:30pm.

Jean Del Porte started Taekwondo in April 1979 with Master Chung K. Ma, in Wappingers Falls, NY and received her 1st dan in November 1982. Master Del Porte trained and assisted in teaching classes at Chung Ma's until 1985 where she competed in local, state and two National's competitions in both poomse and sparring.

From 1989 to 1994, Master Del Porte was a student of Grand Master Dan K. Choi and assisted in teaching at Choi's Taekwondo in Mesa, AZ. During this time, she performed in many demonstrations and community events. In 1994, Master Del Porte joined the Lebanon Blue Wave in Lebanon, NH and became a student of Master Linda Smith-Blais.

Master Del Porte is currently a 5th dan black belt who teachs and operates the Lebanon dojang and HASP (Hanover After School Program) Taekwondo classes. In the last two years, she has taught at the Mount Ascutney School in Windsor, VT. She assisted Master Linda Smith-Blais with instructing the Dartmouth College Taekwondo Club/PE students.
